FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Mass Mailings or Campaigns, as we call them...
1. When will your next campaign be?
In addition to mailing out weekly packages, we are working towards 1) the Christmas Stocking campaign. This was our first campaign last year and it was very successful! We sent stockings full of treats and personal items to soldiers that would've received little or nothing from home. Check out the "Letters and Pictures" page to read some of their letters... 2) Also in the spring we sent out Easter candies and toys for the Some Bunny Loves You campaign. One of our soldiers wrote "I would just like to start off with thank you so much for your support. It really helped me get through this deployment. I just received the Easter package that you and your friends sent to me and I also wanted to tell you that I deeply appreciate it." 3) 4th of July - Beat the Summertime Blues where we send out summertime snack foods, candy and games to brighten up our soldiers long summer days. 4) In September and October we start collecting donations for our Halloween Treats Only campaign.

A guide for sending packages to service personnel via APO or FPO addresses:
(from the postal service)
1) The mailing address MUST contain the name of a specific person as the recipient of the package – preferably both first and last names. Rank and grade are not mandatory. The package must contain the complete return address of the sender.
2) LIQUID contents must be placed in a sealed container and wrapped in absorbent material with outer packaging that will protect the contents.
3) All packages weighing 1 pound or more MUST have a properly completed Customs Form 2976-A (the larger white one). Customs forms with items crossed off or scratched out are not acceptable.
4) ** Detailed descriptions of contents are REQUIRED. Rather than list items such as “food” “medicine” “clothing” “toiletries” or “gifts”, you should list the specific numbers and types of each item enclosed. For example: 1 roll-on deodorant, 2 T-shirts, 1 pkg. household AAA batteries, 3 bags Oreos, 1 non-aerosol shaving gel, 2 bags chocolate candy, etc. Note: Deodorant must be roll-on, solid or stick, and must be listed as such. Shaving cream or shaving gel must NOT be aerosol and must be listed as non-aerosol. Only household batteries are permitted and must be listed as AA, AAA, C, D, etc. Items requiring batteries for use must have the batteries removed during transit and packaged to avoid shorting. Batteries are best mailed in their original, unopened packaging. Hand sanitizer or anti-bacterial gel are flammable and are not acceptable.
5) AEROSOL PRODUCTS ARE NOT PERMITTED. FLAMMABLES, CORROSIVES AND TOXINS ARE NOT PERMITTED. These include, but are not limited to:
A) Alcohol-based products like perfumes, colognes, aftershave, hairspray and mouthwash.
B) Lighters, matches, butane.
C) Cleaning agents and detergents.
D) Fingernail polish and nail polish remover.
E) ** Flea collars, DEET and most bug sprays. NO LONGER PERMITTED.
This is not a complete list of non-mailable items to APO/FPO addresses. Please ask a postal associate for further assistance when mailing.
